Παρέλαβε το «κλειδί» του δήμου Αγίου Δομετίου

Το «κλειδί» του Δήμου Αγίου Δομετίου Κύπρου, παρέδωσε χθες ο δήμαρχος Αγίου Νικολάου, στον πρώην πρόεδρο του Δημοτικού Συμβουλίου, Στρατή Κουρουπάκη, που είχε πρωτοστατήσει το 1993, μαζί με τον τότε δήμαρχο, Γιώργο Μενεγάκη, για την αδελφοποίηση των δύο Δήμων.

Σε μια λιτή τελετή στο γραφείο δημάρχου, ο κ. Κουρουπάκης, παρέλαβε το «κλειδί» του δήμου, ενώ ξεδίπλωσε μνήμες αναφορικά με την πρώτη αποστολή στην Κύπρο, την φιλοξενία που τους επιφύλαξαν στον ημικατεχόμενο δήμο πολίτες και αρχές, καθώς και την μακρόχρονη φιλία που αναπτύχθηκε και διευρύνεται με την συνδρομή και των δύο δήμων.

Κουρουπάκη, το «κλειδί» που δωρήθηκε με αφορμή τις εκδηλώσεις που πραγματοποιήθηκαν την 1 Απριλίου στην Κύπρο δήλωσε: «Πρόκειται για μια πράξη που αποδεικνύει έμπρακτα την σημασία της αδελφοποίησης, και δίνει την δυνατότητα στους εκλεγμένους και από τις δύο πλευρές, να αναλάβουν στο εξής και να προχωρήσουν ακόμη περισσότερο την διαδικασία διεύρυνσης επαφών μεταξύ των δύο δήμων, που στην δεδομένη στιγμή κρίνεται απολύτως απαραίτητη».
