Τις μεσοπρόθεσμες στρατηγικές προτεραιότητες και τις οικονομικές προοπτικές για το 2020 παρουσίασε σε συνέντευξη τύπου ο Πρόεδρος και Διευθύνων Σύμβουλος της ΔΕΗ κ. Γιώργος Στάσσης.
Το κλείσιμο του συνόλου των λιγνιτικών μονάδων της επιχείρησης έως το 2023 πλην της Πτολεμαϊδας 5 που θα λειτουργήσει από το 2022 μέχρι το 2028, περιλαμβάνει το μεσοπρόθεσμο στρατηγικό σχέδιο της ΔΕΗ που εγκρίθηκε την Παρασκευή (13/12) από το Διοικητικό Συμβούλιο.

Σε ότι αφορά το πρόγραμμα διακοπής λειτουργίας λιγνιτικών μονάδων, το σχέδιο προβλέπει ότι το 2020 θα «σβήσουν» οι μονάδες Αμύνταιο 1 και 2 συνολικής ισχύος 550MW, το 2021 θα «σβήσουν» οι μονάδες Καρδιά 3 και 4 συνολικής ισχύος 560 MW, το 2022 θα «σβήσουν» οι Μεγαλόπολη 3 ισχύος 250 MW και οι μονάδες Άγιος Δημήτριος 1 έως 4 συνολικής ισχύος 1100 MW ενώ θα προστεθεί στο σύστημα η Πτολεμαϊδα 5, ισχύος 600 MW.
To 2023 θα «σβήσουν» η Μελίτη 290MW, η Μεγαλόπολη 4, 260 MW , και ο Άγιος Δημήτριος 5, 340MW. Σε ότι αφορά την Πτολεμαϊδα 5, η οποία θα συνεχίσει να λειτουργεί με λιγνίτη το αργότερο έως το 2028 και στη συνέχεια θα λειτουργήσει με διαφορετικό μείγμα καυσίμου.

“Η απολιγνιτοποίηση θα υλοποιηθεί με πλήρη σεβασμό στους εργαζομένους της ΔΕΗ, τις τοπικές κοινωνίες και το περιβάλλον” δήλωσε ο κ. Στάσσης. Η ΔΕΗ θα συνεργαστεί με τις τοπικές αρχές για την εξεύρεση των πλέον κατάλληλων εναλλακτικών λύσεων για την τηλεθέρμανση και θα υποστηρίξει το σχέδιο της κυβέρνησης για τη στήριξη των τοπικών οικονομιών. Η εταιρία σκοπεύει να αναπτύξει στις λιγνιτικές περιοχές “δραστηριότητες με σημαντική προστιθέμενη αξία τόσο για την επιχείρηση όσο και για τις τοπικές οικονομίες”.
