Διαδηλωτές απέκλεισαν δρόμους στο κέντρο του Πορτ-ο-Πρενς, της πρωτεύουσας της Αϊτής, εν μέσω των οργισμένων κινητοποιήσεων για τις ελλείψεις καυσίμων που έχουν ενταθεί το τελευταίο διάστημα ως αποτέλεσμα των εχθροπραξιών μεταξύ αντίπαλων συμμοριών.

Τα πρατήρια καυσίμων είναι κλειστά, πλην ελαχίστων εξαιρέσεων. Ένας από τους μεγαλύτερους τερματικούς σταθμούς καυσίμων στη χώρα υποχρεώθηκε να διακόψει τη λειτουργία του εξαιτίας του πολέμου που μαίνεται μεταξύ των συμμοριών που λυμαίνονται την περιοχή, με απολογισμό περισσότερους από 50 νεκρούς.

Μοτοσικλετιστές απέκλεισαν το πρωί οδικούς κόμβους στο Πορτ-ο-Πρενς και ορισμένοι άναψαν φωτιές και έκαψαν λάστιχα, όπως ανέφεραν αυτόπτες μάρτυρες στο Reuters.

Εκπρόσωπος του πρωθυπουργού της Αϊτής Αριέλ Ανρί ανέφερε ότι «η βία φαίνεται πως είναι απόρροια της αντιπαράθεσης μεταξύ των συμμοριών G9 και GPEP».

Στην πυκνοκατοικημένη κοινότητα Σιτέ Σολέιγ χιλιάδες άνθρωποι βρίσκονται από την Παρασκευή αποκομμένοι, χωρίς νερό και τρόφιμα, όπως ανέφεραν οι «Γιατροί Χωρίς Σύνορα».

Δύο δεξαμενόπλοια με εισαγόμενα καύσιμα δεν κατάφεραν να ξεφορτώσουν, αφού τα βυτιοφόρα δεν πλησιάζουν τον τερματικό σταθμό λόγω των ταραχών.
