Τις τεράστιες αλλαγές που έχει υποστεί το τοπίο στη Γη τα τελευταία 37 χρόνια απεικονίζει το βίντεο του Google Earth.

Με μια διαλογή δορυφορικών εικόνων από την πλατφόρμα της Google και τη NASA και χρησιμοποιώντας την τεχνολογία timelapse, στο βίντεο φαίνεται πόσο έχουν αλλάξει τοπία πόλεων όπως το Ντουμπάι, δάση, θάλασσες, ακόμα και στη Γροϊλανδία όπου οι πάγοι με την πάροδο του χρόνου ολοένα και λιώνουν.

Το εν λόγω βίντεο διαρκεί λίγο παραπάνω από δυο λεπτά, ωστόσο για τη δημιουργία του αναλύθηκαν 24 εκατομμύρια εικόνες από το 1984 μέχρι το 2020, με την εταιρία να αναφέρει πως σκοπός της είναι «να έχουμε μια πιο καθαρή εικόνα του μεταβαλλόμενου πλανήτη μας -μια εικόνα που δείχνει όχι μόνο τα προβλήματα, αλλά και τις λύσεις, καθώς και την μαγευτική ομορφιά των φυσικών φαινομένων σε βάθος δεκαετιών».
