Ένας άνδρας από την Αϊόβα τραυματίστηκε από σφαίρα όταν τον πυροβόλησε ο… σκύλος του, ένα ατύχημα που υπογραμμίζει για άλλη μια φορά τους κινδύνους της οπλοφορίας στις ΗΠΑ.

Ο Ρίτσαρντ Ρίμι, 51 ετών, έπαιζε την Τετάρτη στον καναπέ του σπιτιού του, στην κωμόπολη Φορτ Ντοτζ, με τον τετράποδο φίλο του, τον Μπέιλιου, όταν προσπάθησε να τον κατεβάσει από την αγκαλιά του.

Ο Μπέιλιου προσπάθησε να ξανανέβει στα γόνατα του αφεντικού του που έφερε στη ζώνη του το πιστόλι του, ένα Ρούγκερ των 9 χιλιοστών.

“Ήμουν στον καναπέ και κάναμε χαζομάρες, εγώ κι ο σκύλος. Τον κατέβαζα από τα γόνατά μου κι εκείνος πηδούσε και ξανανέβαινε”, αφηγήθηκε το θύμα στην τοπική εφημερίδα The Messenger. Ο Μπέιλιου, που είναι διασταύρωση πιτμπούλ και λαμπραντόρ, φαίνεται ότι κατάφερε με κάποιον τρόπο να βγάλει την ασφάλεια του όπλου και να πατήσει τη σκανδάλη με την πατούσα του. Η σφαίρα καρφώθηκε στο πόδι του Ρίμι.

Ο 51χρονος τηλεφώνησε στις πρώτες βοήθειες και μεταφέρθηκε σε νοσοκομείο.

“Με πυροβόλησε ο σκύλος μου” είπε το θύμα στον έκπληκτο τηλεφωνητή.

“Δεν έχω ξανακούσει τέτοιο πράγμα” σχολίασε στην εφημερίδα ο αρχηγός της τοπικής αστυνομίας, Ρότζερ Πόρτερ.

“Το να σε πυροβολήσει ο σκύλος σου μπορεί να συμβεί μόνο στην Αμερική” είπε από την πλευρά της η Σάνον Γουότς, η ιδρύτρια μιας οργάνωσης μητέρων κατά της οπλοκατοχής.
