Την ικανοποίησή του για την υιοθέτηση του Ψηφίσματος του Συμβουλίου Ασφαλείας του Οργανισμού Ηνωμένων Εθνών, σχετικά με την ανανέωση της θητείας της Ειρηνευτικής Δύναμης (UNFICYP) στην Κύπρο εκφράζει το υπουργείο Εξωτερικών της Κύπρου.

Όπως αναφέρει σε σχετική του ανακοίνωση το κυπριακό ΥΠΕΞ, στο Ψήφισμά του το Συμβούλιο Ασφαλείας επιβεβαιώνει όλα τα περί Κύπρου Ψηφίσματά του και επαναλαμβάνει τη σημασία επίτευξης συνολικής επίλυσης του Κυπριακού στο συμφωνημένο πλαίσιο λύσης Δικοινοτικής, Διζωνικής Ομοσπονδίας με πολιτική ισότητα όπως καθορίζεται στα σχετικά Ψηφίσματα.

Το Συμβούλιο Ασφαλείας επιβεβαιώνει, επίσης, τη στάση του αναφορικά με το καθεστώς της περίκλειστης περιοχής της Αμμοχώστου σύμφωνα με τα σχετικά Ψηφίσματα και την Προεδρική Δήλωση ημερομηνίας 23 Ιουλίου 2021, που καταδικάζει τις ανακοινώσεις της Τουρκικής και Τουρκοκυπριακής ηγεσίας για το περαιτέρω άνοιγμα μέρους της περίκλειστης περιοχής. Στο ίδιο πλαίσιο, εκφράζει έντονη απογοήτευση για τη μη αναστροφή των τουρκικών ενεργειών στην περίκλειστη περιοχή.

Το Συμβούλιο Ασφαλείας, λαμβάνοντας υπόψη τη σύμφωνη γνώμη της κυβέρνησης της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας, προχωρά στην ανανέωση της θητείας της Ειρηνευτικής Δύναμης (UNFICYP), ενώ επισημαίνει ότι το status quo δεν είναι βιώσιμο και επαναλαμβάνει την σημασία εφαρμογής Μέτρων Οικοδόμησης Εμπιστοσύνης, καταλήγει η σχετική ανακοίνωση.
