Οι εργασίες της ειδικής εξεταστικής επιτροπής της Βουλής των Αντιπροσώπων για την επίθεση στο Καπιτώλιο την 6η Ιανουαρίου 2021 είναι για τον  Ντόναλντ Τραμπ, «παρωδία δικαιοσύνης». Η επιτροπή  έχει μέλη κυρίως Δημοκρατικούς και τον κατηγορεί πως βρισκόταν στην καρδιά «απόπειρας πραξικοπήματος» στις ΗΠΑ.

Με δελτίο Τύπου έκτασης δώδεκα σελίδων, στο οποίο επαναλαμβάνει εξάλλου τον αποδεδειγμένα ψευδή ισχυρισμό του πως έχασε τις εκλογές του 2020 εξαιτίας νοθείας, ο πρώην πρόεδρος των ΗΠΑ, καταφέρεται κατά του έργου της επιτροπής με βαρύτατους χαρακτηρισμούς.

«Αυτή η κωμωδία είναι μια ξεδιάντροπη απόπειρα να εκτραπεί η προσοχή της κοινής γνώμης από την αλήθεια  η οποία είναι ότι οι Αμερικανοί πήγαν μαζικά στην Ουάσινγκτον την 6η Ιανουαρίου 2021 προκειμένου να αναγκάσουν τους αιρετούς τους να λογοδοτήσουν για τις καταφανείς ενδείξεις παράνομης δραστηριότητας στις εκλογές» του Νοεμβρίου του 2020, ανέφερε ο Ρεπουμπλικάνος πρώην πρόεδρος στο κείμενο αυτό, παρότι δεν υπάρχει καμία απόδειξη πως έγινε νοθεία και ο πρώην υπουργός Δικαιοσύνης της κυβέρνησής του Ουίλιαμ Μπαρ κατέθεσε στην εξεταστική επιτροπή πως ο τότε αρχηγός του κράτους έχει πάρει διαζύγιο «από την πραγματικότητα» για το συγκεκριμένο ζήτημα.
