Μετά και την πιο πρόσφατη επίθεση με θύμα 18χρονη κατευθείαν στα μάτια, οι ειδικοί μιλούν στην ΕΡΤ για τον κίνδυνο μιμιτισμού «λόγω της δημοσιογραφικής υπερέκεθεσης στις ψυχοπαθητικές προσωπικότητες», όπως ενδεικτικά είπε η δικηγόρος Ειρήνη Μαρούπα.

Διαχρονικό χαρακτήρισε το συγκεκριμένο έγκλημα, ο Πάνος Παπαϊωάννου. Ο εγκληματολόγος επιβεβαιώνει «ξαφνική αύξηση και επαναληπτικότητα», που όπως λέει, έχει να κάνει με τη δημοσιότητα. Παρατηρεί ωστόσο ότι στα χρονικά τα περισσότερα θύματα ήταν άντρες.

Παγκοσμίως το αρνητικό ρεκόρ διατηρεί η Αγγλία με 420 επιθέσεις μόνο το 2020. Γυναίκα- σύμβολο χαρακτηρίζεται πλέον η Κέιτ Πάιπερ, που έγινε θύμα βιασμού και επίθεσης με καυστικό υγρό από δράστη που γνώρισε στα social media. Υπέστη 40 χειρουργεία και πλέον η αποκατάσταση της την βρίσκει μια όμορφη μητέρα δύο παιδιών.
