Μετά από 12 ώρες κράτησης ο Τζιμπρίλ Σισέ απολαμβάνει και πάλι την ελευθερία του. Η γαλλική αστυνομία είχε στυλλάβει τον Σισέ μαζί με τρία ακόμα άτομα με την υποψία της απόπειρας εκβιασμού του 31χρονου άσου της Λιόν Ματιέ Βαλμπουενά, χρησιμοποιώντας «ροζ» βίντεο.

Ο Σισέ αρνήθηκε την εμπλοκή του στην υπόθεση εκβιασμού. Ο Γάλλος άσος μιλώντας στην εφημερίδα «Figaro», τόνισε πως δεν έχει καμιά σχέση με την υπόθεση αυτή: «Δεν έχω καμία σχέση με αυτό, ο Ματιέ είναι φίλος μου. Απλώς τον προειδοποίησα ότι αυτό θα ήταν ένα μεγάλο πρόβλημα για εκείνον και θα πρέπει να προσέχει. Είναι μια ιστορία πολύ κακή και για εμένα αλλά και για εκείνον. Εμένα μου έκαναν ερωτήσεις για να μάθουν τι γνωρίζω και να ακούσουν τη δική μου πλευρά στην υπόθεση», τόνισε σχετικά και συμπλήρωσε:

«Εγώ ποτέ δεν τον εξαπάτησα. Ο Ματιέ είναι ένας φίλος. Όταν ήμασταν μαζί στη Μαρσέιγ πάντα τον έπαιρνα και πηγαίναμε μαζί στη προπόνηση. Δεν υπάρχει καμία απάτη. Απλώς τον προειδοποίησα να είναι προσεκτικός. Κατέθεσε και απλώς ανέφερε το όνομά μου. Έτσι μπλέχθηκα χωρίς λόγο στην υπόθεση αυτή».

Ο Σισέ, ο οποίος στο παρελθόν διετέλεσε συμπαίκτης με τον Βαλμπουενά στη Μαρσέιγ, συνελήφθη επειδή ήξερε τους άλλους εμπλεκομένους, ωστόσο δεν υπάρχει υποψία εναντίον του ότι είναι υποκινητής της υπόθεσης, όπως δήλωσε στέλεχος της αστυνομίας.

Η απόπειρα εκβιασμού περιλαμβάνει βίντεο ερωτικού περιεχομένου, το οποίο καταγράφηκε με κινητό τηλέφωνο, όπως τόνισε το συγκεκριμένο στέλεχος, το οποίο θέλησε να διατηρήσει την ανωνυμία του, κάτι που αποτελεί κοινή πρακτική στη Γαλλία για εκπροσώπους Τύπου της αστυνομίας.
