Ο Αθλητικός Όμιλος Κρήτης «Ιππόσχεση» με συνδιοργανωτή την Περιφέρεια Κρήτης, διοργανώνουν ένα διήμερο ιππικής αντοχής που  θα παρακολουθήσουν όσοι παρευρεθούν στη Φοινικιά Ηρακλείου το Σάββατο 11 και ώρα 15:00  και την Κυριακή 12 Μαΐου και ώρα 7:30.

Η Ιππική αντοχή αποτελεί ένα ταχύτατα αναπτυσσόμενο άθλημα στην Ελλάδα και στον υπόλοιπο κόσμο. Στα πλαίσια αυτής της ανάπτυξης, σημειώνεται πως το έτος 2001 έλαβαν χώρα 147 αγώνες, ενώ  τον επόμενο χρόνο ανήλθαν σε 186.

Ρίχνοντας μια σύντομη ματιά επί χάρτου στο αγώνισμα αυτό, η Ιππική Αντοχή δοκιμάζει την ικανότητα του αθλητή να χειρίζεται με ασφάλεια την αντοχή και υγεία του ίππου σε διαδρομές αντοχής εναντίων των ατραπών, της απόστασης, του κλίματος, του εδάφους και του χρόνου.

Σε μια διαδρομή Ιππικής Αντοχής έμφαση από όλους, αγωνιζόμενους και διοργανωτές, δίνεται ως οφείλει, στον «καλό» τερματισμό αθλητή-αλόγου. Με άλλα λόγια, αυτοσκοπό του αθλητή αποτελεί η καλή κατάσταση υγείας τόσο του ιδίου όσο και του αλόγου- συνεργάτη του κατά τον τερματισμό, και όχι η νίκη αυτή καθαυτή.
